Vilnius is showing off in 2009

Vilnius and Linz are the European capitals of culture 2009. A range of events will be implemented throughout the year. The cities will also work together.The event series “Vilnius reads Linz” at anniversary Vilnius Book Fair is analogous to the project “Linz reads Vilnius”, which will take place in Linz.

Vilnius will also host a special event in cooperation with Stavanger city in NOrway which was European capital of culture in 2008. A special composition was made between Choir Jauna Muzika and Stavanger Brass Band.

Choir Jauna Muzika and Stavanger Brass BandChoir Jauna Muzika and Stavanger Brass BandThese concerts would be as passing on the “baton” of the European Capitals of Culture between Stavanger and Vilnius. A special musical composition will be created for the choir and the orchestra of wind instruments on this occasion.
