A ferry Lisco Gloria belonging to a company DFDS Lisco burned on the way from Kiel port (Germany) to Klaipėda (Lithuania) the 9 of October. All the passengers were saved by a german Ferry “Deutschland” which took the people back to Kiel. Several people were injured. A part of the passengers were taken to Palanga and Vilnius airports by plain. The rest came back by another ferry “Lisco Maxima”.
People have lost their cars and other belongings in the fire. The company claimed all the losses will be covered. According to specialists the fire was caused by a technical problem in one of the cargo-carrying vehicles on board.</p>
