Example of such activities is an annual exhibition Eget Företag which took place in the end of September in Stockholm. Three days event brought together under one roof over one hundred young entrepreneurs, IT start-ups, web-development service providers, coaching companies, representatives of government agencies and others. One of the participants was an accounting company A-Count which developed a new concept of work flow to make accounting easier. Lotta, co-founder, believe their aim is to help those taking the first step in running own business to focus on core activities of their company instead of dealing with accounting paper work.

Start-up contests are another way to encourage entrepreneurship. Even though competition is high and for most of applicants it is unlikely to get financial support, young entrepreneurs have an opportunity to expand network of connections, learn from others and obtain useful insights on current trends. Venture Cup start-up competition is among most famous.

Universities expand curriculum and add new programmes related to entrepreneurship. Moreover, some universities collaborate and set up joint projects. One of successful examples of such collaboration is Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship (SSES). It is a project between five universities in Stockholm which is aimed to provide courses in applied entrepreneurship for Swedish and international students. Apart from that SSES arrange workshops, conferences and networking events throughout the year.

Additionally, set up a company in Sweden is easy and does not require accounting knowledge. Rules are clear. Essentially, to start a basic legal entity, sole proprietorship (enskild firma) one needs to fill in online form and pay 1200 SEK (approx. 120 Euro) and in around two weeks company can send out first invoices.

Such entrepreneurial environment and transparent rules result in increase of those who choose entrepreneurial path in life. Rates of new company establishments are growing in most parts of Sweden. In Stockholm municipality the growth was 18% compared to previous year, some other municipalities have added even more. However, IC partner municipalities still have much to do in order to encourage entrepreneurship. In Robertsfors, was significant decline in legal entity registration applications, nearly 36% less compared to the last year.
