Alf S. Johansen is the face that most people refer to when they think about the Innovation Circle Network. He is with ICN from the very beginning since it was his idea to establish a network that connects smaller and medium sized towns and regions in Northern Europe.
Alf has been in charge of a range of regional and town development projects within Scandinavia and Northern Europe since the beginning of the 1990s. His speciality is governance, public sector management and spatial planning. He worked as a chief planner of Spydeberg Municipality in Norway from 1987 until 1997. The last 20 years he has been a freelancer and project manager and worked as an expert within projects funded by the European Union, Nordic Council of Ministers, national, regional and local governments. He is connected to the Nordic cross border cooperation and the Scandinavian Borderland in particular.
