The Year will therefore be addressing policy makers at EU, national, regional and local levels, businesses, volunteering organisations, the volunteers themselves, and the general public. Volunteer, and make a difference!

One way to contribute to the EYV is to take part in “Discover e-volunteering” - a competition with a mission. It has been launched to promote the social activity in the Internet. Its aim is also to show, through the examples of the most interesting initiatives involving the e-volunteering activity, how non-governmental organisations can arrange and benefit from the e-volunteer cooperation.

All non-governmental organisations that have cooperated or still cooperate with volunteers via the Internet may enter the Competition. Projects into which the volunteers are involved can have a form of a one-time action, a cycle or a permanent activity and they can be related to any field of social activity.

This year, on the occasion of the European Year Of Volunteering, the Good Network Foundation organised a special edition of the Competition. It will include all European Union states. Each non-governmental organisation operating in the EU will be able to participate in the Competition by completing a form, simultanously creating a base of good e-volunteering practices open for general use.

The competiton is organised in cooperation with the European partners. Its main aim is to promote good training, inform about advantages of e-volunteering and, obviously, reward the best!

The applications can be submitted till the 31st of July via the application e-form. Preliminary selection of the best e-volunteering projects will be made by an international Selection Committee. Initiatives chosen by the Jury will be put to the open e-voting held on the webpage: www.e-volunteering.eu between 12th September and 12th October 2011.

The total sum of prizes in the Competition is 5.000 euro. They are funded by the Fundacja Orange, Competition Organizer (1st prize) and Fondation Orange, Competition Partner (2nd prize).

The total sum may increase during the Competition.

The official announcement of the winners of the Competition will take place in November 2011 during the Final Gala in Warsaw.
