Mobile tourist guide of the City of Suwalki was carried out within the project ‘Improvement of Suwalki tourist attraction through the reconstruction of Maria Konopnicka Square’. The project was co-financed from the European Regional Development Fund. The mobile tourist guide of the City of Suwalki can be downloaded as an application on a mobile iPhone, iPad, Android and Windows Phone.
The mobile guide provides tourists and inhabitants of Suwalki with a free access to interactive maps, allowing users to find local monuments and interesting places. It facilitates finding an accommodation or a restaurant and suggests where to seek tourist and cultural attractions for the children or enthusiasts of active leisure pursuits. Thanks to the mobile guide, it is possible to find contact details, descriptions and photos of some facilities as well as to listen to a voice information on a given facility. The mobile application uses the geolocation system, analysing the positioning of a GPS receiver and smartly adjusting to it the displayed routes, facilities and events. The guide contains several information about public facilities, tourist and cultural attractions in Suwalki, in particular the description of a given place, opening hours, contact details, photos, recorded information about a given facility. The application is available in Polish, English and Lithuanian.
