A look into the future of the European Territorial Cooperation
Baltic Sea Region Programme Conference 2012
Achievements of transnational cooperation as well as planning the next programme period 2014-2020 will be on the agenda of the stakeholders of the Baltic Sea Region Programme during the year 2012. The Programme Conference aims to reflect what differences transnational cooperation can make when successful projects continue working as thematic clusters.
Participants are also invited to look into the future of the European Territorial Cooperation 2014-2020, and discuss the relationship between the EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region and the Baltic Sea Region Programme 2014-2020. The conference will take place in Lilleström (Oslo region), Norway, 19 - 20 September.
The same venue will also be the place for the next BSSSV Annual Conference, 17 - 19 September. The EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region as well as the Europe 2020 strategy focuses on promoting a more resource efficient, greener and more competitive economy. Eastern Norway County Network and the BSSSC (Baltic Sea States Subregional Co-operation) would like to take stock on investments in green solutions in a time of economic crises. Ttherefore the 20th BSSSC Conference at Lilleström will take place under the title

"Through interventions, political discussions, sharing best practises and interacting with each other – we hope to stimulate ideas and concrete proposals for making the BSR a more sustainable place", so a statement on the BSSSC website.
The European Union's Baltic Sea Region Programme 2007-2013 promotes regional development through transnational cooperation projects. Partners in countries around the Baltic Sea work together to find joint solutions to common problems. You will find a detailed programme here.
